Educators may use this guide to help score the assessment and to understand pronunciation of the patterns in the exercises.
Read more Word Warm-ups Live develops accuracy and automaticity in decoding using a modified version of the Read Naturally Strategy. Students work on short audio-supported phonics exercises for as little as 10 minutes a day as reading warm-ups, or up to 30 minutes a day as an intervention.
We recently added a second level of content to Word Warm-ups Live, making the program even better as a phonics intervention. This new content also makes Word Warm-ups Live an excellent tool to support classroom phonics instruction for students up to third grade. Read more Managing students' needs is always a work in progress. My latest challenge in my classroom has been to figure out the best Read Naturally Live level for my younger readers. In the past, most (if not all) of my second-grade students have seamlessly fit into the Phonics levels of stories. As they progressed, I would move them into Sequenced stories. Usually, their phonics needs would be well matched to their fluency needs in the Phonics series. These levels provided the right amount of challenge and comfort for their reading.
