Word Warm-ups Live develops accuracy and automaticity in decoding using a modified version of the Read Naturally Strategy. Students work on short audio-supported phonics exercises for as little as 10 minutes a day as reading warm-ups, or up to 30 minutes a day as an intervention.

We recently added a second level of content to Word Warm-ups Live, making the program even better as a phonics intervention. This new content also makes Word Warm-ups Live an excellent tool to support classroom phonics instruction for students up to third grade. Check out the Word Warm-ups Live Basics webinar to learn more about this powerful phonics program.

The 2021-22 school year is fast approaching, and our curriculum and development teams are hard at work making important improvements to Read Live. We’ve added several features and enhancements in the past few weeks. Here are some of the most important updates in the most recent Read Live releases:

How can we make a difference for our students in the area of reading? What programs do we choose? How do we know these approaches will reach each student where they are? How can I help my students’ parents understand what they are supposed to do to support their child in the area of reading? These are all questions that educators reflect on regularly.

This past week, we released the latest version of our award-winning One Minute Reader program. Designed specifically for parents to use at home, One Minute Reader is a fun and effective way to develop critical reading skills.

The year was 1991. The Dow Jones Industrial Average topped 3,000 for the first time. Madonna, Janet Jackson, and Whitney Houston were battling for the top spot on the pop charts. The Soviet Union was dissolving, and the Cold War was over. The future was bright, and anything was possible.

We are pleased to announce the winners of the fourth annual Read Live School of the Year Award. Students in the winning schools made great gains and substantially improved their reading skills despite the many challenges of the past school year.

Nathaly G. rounds out the year as our May Star of the Month. She is a third-grader at Hilltop Elementary in Mendham, NJ. Nathaly exceeded all her beginning of the year reading goals. She checked the box in fluency, comprehension, and stamina. Nathaly's teacher, Mrs. Kagan, is very proud of all the progress Nathly made this past year and shared the following with us.

It’s time for the annual Read Naturally Top 10 Blog Posts! The 2020-21 school year brought many challenges for teachers, students, and parents. Our goal at Read Naturally is to support educators and help students make great progress. In the past year, we’ve added three additional programs to Read Live and introduced several new features to support distance learning. As you can see, these new programs and features dominated the list for top blog posts for the 2020-21 school year. The introduction of Word Warm-ups Live and phonics-related content was especially popular. But what was at the top of the list? You’ll have to keep reading to find out!

Read Live includes four highly effective instructional programs designed to deliver measurable results for struggling and developing readers of all ages. We recently recorded five new webinars, providing an overview of Read Live as well as the basics for each of the four programs: Read Naturally Live, Word Warm-ups Live, One Minute Reader Live, and Read Naturally Live—Español. Check out these 30-minute presentations for a better understanding of Read Live and additional details on each of the four instructional programs.
