Students taking high-stakes tests must have the capacity to read for extended periods of time. Whether they’re reading a series of questions, or reading to comprehend a lengthy passage, endurance is crucial to their success. How can we help build reading stamina?

At Read Naturally, we continuously strive to improve the user experience for teachers, ensuring our tools are as efficient and easy to use as possible. We understand that teachers' time and expertise are invaluable, and we want to ensure they can maximize their efforts in working directly with their students. In line with this goal, we are excited to announce the release of several significant enhancements to the Read Live program that aim to streamline onboarding and maximize student activity time.

We hope you’re enjoying everything that Read Live has to offer. We want to let you know of an upcoming price change to your subscription. Read Naturally is committed to continually innovating our products and delivering value to our customers.

In our ongoing commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, we are thrilled to announce some exciting updates to the Read Live platform. Read Naturally recently received a letter of conformance stating that the Read Live platform now conforms with Level A and AA of the WCAG version 2.1.

One of the things that sets Read Naturally programs apart is our high-interest, nonfiction stories. Struggling readers need to feel motivated to read, so we try to find unique topics that will hold their interest and spark their curiosity. When we read about the work of the nonprofit APOPO, not only were we inspired by its mission, but we knew we had the makings of a great story. Since then, our Rats to the Rescue story in Read Live and Encore II Level 5.6 has become a crowd favorite.

We are proud to announce that Read Live is the winner of the 2023 Parent and Teacher Choice Award from HowtoLearn.com! Read Live was selected as the gold medal winner in the Reading Instruction Programs category.

Assessing students' needs and placing them appropriately is crucial to success in Read Live programs. Check out these short, informative videos to guide you through the process.

Our development team has been working hard to make Read Live more accessible and flexible for you and your students. Here are some of the important updates that have been released in the last couple of months.

My eighth grader, Adam, refused to participate in his piano recital this year because he hadn’t learned his piece well enough. I can confirm that he hadn’t practiced much and was making lots of mistakes. Even so, a few days before the recital, I pleaded with him, “Can you just go up there and play it as best as you can? It’s okay if you make mistakes!”—to which he responded, as I knew he would, “No way. That’s too embarrassing.”

As another year in my Read Live reading lab winds down, I've noticed an uptick in my third graders' motivation. Many of them had been "saving" certain story topics for last, patiently waiting to read the stories that interested them the most. They're thrilled that the time has finally come. The Exploding Toads story, in particular, has been worth the wait!
