A free, self-paced online course is now available for One Minute Reader, the newly released independent reading program included with Read Live.

Over the past year, we’ve added three new curriculum options and developed several new features to better support distance learning with Read Live. We’ve also updated content, added support for Google (G Suite) for Education, and developed more resources for training and support. Read Live is better than ever!

A Student's Guide to One Minute Reader Live combines detailed training videos with hands-on activities covering all the steps of the program. Each video in the series demonstrates a different set of steps. After watching the student narrator demonstrate the process, students log into their first One Minute Reader Live story and complete the steps themselves, imitating what was just demonstrated.

Our popular student training videos are now available in Spanish! Teach your students how to do the steps of Read Naturally Live—Español with this new video series.

The latest Read Live update includes even more improvements to help support Read Live users implementing the program in a hybrid or distance-learning module. We’ve added more detailed information to the Waiting List, enabled account and student-level controls for the recording features, and created a new Team feature.

Our award-winning, independent, supplemental reading program was released this past weekend, and is now available to all Read Live users at no additional cost. One Minute Reader Live engages students with interesting short passages, motivating graphs, and fun joke jumbles. Utilizing the research-based Read Naturally Strategy in a fully independent and motivating system, One Minute Reader Live helps students develop fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary skills, and build confidence as learners. See the release notes for complete details on this exciting new addition to Read Live.

Managing students' needs is always a work in progress. My latest challenge in my classroom has been to figure out the best Read Naturally Live level for my younger readers. In the past, most (if not all) of my second-grade students have seamlessly fit into the Phonics levels of stories. As they progressed, I would move them into Sequenced stories. Usually, their phonics needs would be well matched to their fluency needs in the Phonics series. These levels provided the right amount of challenge and comfort for their reading.

Student training is an important part of any curriculum implementation. Investing the time to teach students how to properly use a program will lead to much better results in the long-term. That’s why we’ve created A Student’s Guide to Word Warm-ups Live. This free resource makes student training easy, efficient, and enjoyable.

Read Naturally Live–Español is now available to all Read Live users! Here are some resources to help you get the most from the new program.

The Spanish version of Read Naturally Live was released this past weekend, and is now available to all Read Live users at no additional cost. The initial release will include four levels of the Sequenced series (1.0–2.5) with 24 stories per level. Levels 3.0–4.5 will be added in Spring 2021.
